*Purpose and Scope:*
This position is responsible to build, maintain, and support either the business applications or the technical infrastructure that the business relies upon to operate. The applications span across the breadth of the business and include examples such as order entry, scheduling, inventory, product location, plant data collection, activity based costing, invoicing, etc. The infrastructure/technical environment is the fundamental source of the underlying hardware and networks that facilitate the utilization of the business applications and tools. This position is expected to work off-hours support when needed and in critical application downtime.
* Daily support of applications and services covered. The systems and servers are the backbone of our business and manufacturing areas. Any issues with these systems can restrict our ability to locate product, move product and also manufacture product. Therefore the associate must respond to support calls after hours and on weekends as necessary, diagnose problems, and implement solutions quickly.
* This position is expected to be able to develop/implement information technology solutions as needed.
* If supporting the applications landscape, this position is expected to be able to conduct problem resolution analysis as well as make all or part of the application changes required. These applications may have been developed in-house (Ex. CORE, Inquiry, Sample Tracking, etc.) or are part of a purchased software package (Ex. Logis, Maximo, SAP, etc.) This position is expected to develop new and/or change existing applications based on their own analysis.
* If supporting the technical/infrastructure landscape, this position is expected to be able to resolve hardware or network equipment issues in a timely fashion, either directly or working with others. These hardware/equipment issues may be on specific individual client PC s (Laptops or towers) or on servers/main computers (Windows, VMS, SAP, etc.) where business applications reside. This also includes technical support areas of backup and disaster recovery for the equipment. If the person in this position is supporting the networks which connect our applications, systems and tools, then knowledge and support would be required for switches, routers, RF, etc.
* This position is expected to participate in SOX, IT, etc. audits as required to ensure compliance of application development and/or technical standards and procedures.
* Individuals in this position may also be required to participate in Disaster Recovery planning/execution in the event there is a significant activity that causes disruption to the business system applications/tools.
*Technical Skills*:
*Minimum Qualifications*: Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field with at least 2 years of experience in Application Design/Development.
*Preferred Qualifications*: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field with 0-2 years of experience in Application Design/Development.
